Day 4: Grace in the small things
Day 4: Grace in the Small Things
Scripture:
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.”
— Zechariah 4:10 (NLT)
Devotional:
It’s easy to miss the beauty in the mundane. The sticky fingerprints on the window, the same toy picked up for the tenth time, the endless loop of snacks, spills, and bedtime routines—none of it feels grand or noteworthy. But motherhood isn’t about the big moments alone. It’s in the crumbs under the highchair, the mismatched socks, the whispered “I love you” at the end of a long day.
God doesn’t overlook the small things. In fact, He delights in them. The world may not applaud diaper changes or middle-of-the-night rocking, but heaven sees. Every little act of love is a seed planted in your child’s heart. Every sacrifice, every sigh, every smile—He gathers it all.
When Jesus broke bread and gave thanks, it was just five loaves and two fish. Small in the world’s eyes, but more than enough in the hands of a God who multiplies. Your daily offerings, no matter how simple, are significant in His Kingdom.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to find You in the little things today. Remind me that nothing is wasted when it’s done in love. Teach me to celebrate the small beginnings, the unnoticed efforts, and the quiet faithfulness that builds a legacy. Thank You for the grace You pour into the ordinary. Amen.
Journal Prompt:
What small moments in your day have felt overlooked? How can you begin to see them as opportunities to experience God’s grace?
